Heart Breaking Life. Reader, please contact me (Mike S.)
Dear Mr. Samadi,
I feel as if your book has changed my life. I have a 14-year-old daughter who was diagnosed with cancer just after her third birthday. She has non-Hodgkin’s and has had so many complicating factors that I have taken her from one side of the country to the other and from the north to the south seeking treatment. She has had trachs and gone through more than anyone ever should. Yet, she is beautiful and happy and strong. Last year I took her to Los Angeles Children’s Hospital because the best doctor to treat her condition is there. Unfortunately because she was only 12 at the time she was very hormonal and didn’t heal well so the plan is to return this summer for them to finish a whole treatment plan that will be painful and beyond anything I can imagine going through (and take years). In addition, it involves uprooting my entire family and heading from New York to California AGAIN. (I am a single mother with five children.)
I have always tried to keep my credit the best I could but between all our moves and my job changes and sometimes being between jobs, it’s not always easy. In July I will likely move to LA without a job yet again. Sometimes things happen as you explain in your book that are just beyond your control or not your fault. This is one of those stories….
When Jade was in third grade she wanted to play the flute so badly. So I went to our local distributor and leased a flute for the school year. Unfortunately, at her first lesson we found out that due to the deformity and scarring in her mouth a flute was not in her future. So I called the music company and asked them how I should handle it. They were understanding and said they came to the school every Tuesday and I needed to make sure Jade left it in the music room at school and they would pick it up. To make a long story short I found out at the end of the year that they had NEVER picked it up. In the meantime I had gone through with a divorce and we were in another school in the same district so I called and they asked me to pick it up and put it in the new school’s music room. A few YEARS later I found out they had never picked it up when it appeared on my credit report as a judgment and the collection agency who had puchased it from the music store froze my bank account simultaneously.
Mind you at the time, I had a daughter I am not sure is going to live through the month and I was not working, but living on child support! So I had to fight this collection agency who claimed they were all attorneys until an attorney friend caught them in their lie. Well, eventually my funds were released minus several hundred dollars of bank fees because you cannot attach anything to child support. Imagine my surprise when the same agency turns around and does it again! Same results, but it makes it tough to see the silver lining!
So skip ahead to now and it still sits there as a judgment even though I was never ever served. Then I read your wonderful book and now I know I have options. I am going to sue them to have this judgment vacated and finally get this ridiculous thing stricken from my credit report!! Maybe then I will be able to see that silver lining!
Being a single mother with five children is difficult. Having a critically ill child is difficult. But I have learned a few things and my wise grandmother taught me some things. Credit changes your life and your book can truly help you fix your credit. Your book is a blessing. I always believed that the time I get with my daughter and all my children is a gift and when she said once and she only said once, “Why me?” I answered….You are a gift and sent here to teach us and tomorrow your sister could walk in front of a bus! No one knows how much time they have.
What you teach is like that. It is a gift. You have the ability to change people’s lives. Never forget that and never stop.

I am Mike Samadi.
I would like the readers of this articles to please contact me for several reasons. Two of the most important reasons are:
1. I love children just like you. It is breaking my heart to read about the true story of this young girl with cancer. I would like to know if you or someone you know can help or contribute to her cause. I would be glad to provide sufficient information for you to send a card and show your love and support for the little gril and her family.
2. Being on the financial condition the family is, it is difficult to move from NY to LA. Therefore and again, any support you can give this family/member of 5 would be a great help.
3. For you showing your support, I will be glad to answer your most important credit or financial related question.

Dear Nicolle:
First, I hope and pray that your daughter will finally and soon be rescued from all her pain, she would be heeled so that she would enjoy playing with her brothers and sisters.
Second: As far as your collection, I discussed it with you earlier. However, for the readers, I am going to give some solution. They are as follows:
a. since they were to pick it up from the school then, the music teacher should remember the incident (especially since your daughter would be someone to remember by the school staff. They are your list of witnesses that the company had the practice of picking up instrument from the school.
b. If you did not get served by the company that sued you, please read the lawsuit and judgment of the book: “Bad things Happen to Good People.” “Your Credit = Your Life, Fix It Now.” It describes in detail what you need to do and the steps you need to take.
c. I am not an attorney and am not planning to give you legal advice. However and again my book describes that you need to file a Motion to Vacate or Motion to Set Aside Judgment with the court.
d. In my opinion, the collection attempts and the defualt Judgment thereafter was in violation of the law.
